Sleep is a modifiable factor that supports healthy development; the quality and amount of sleep a youth gets is associated with a multitude of long-term health outcomes in adulthood. We propose to develop sleep growth charts of sleep macro- and microarchitecture using a combination of gold-standard, archival polysomnography data and accessible, at-home sleep recording devices. These resulting growth charts will serve as an essential template for the study of adolescent sleep development, improving detection of suboptimal sleep and enhancing personalized interventions.
