Research

For over 25 years, the Center for Sleep and Circadian Science has been at the forefront of sleep research. Our faculty constantly works to expand and deepen what we know about sleep. We have developed numerous instruments to facilitate sleep assessment that are cited and used worldwide.

Current Research

Undergraduate, graduate, medical student/resident, and postdoctoral trainees gain valuable hands on research experience by working closely with CSCS faculty from across the University of Pittsburgh campus, including the Graduate School of Public Health, Department of Psychology, Department of Neuroscience, School of Nursing, and Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine.

Instruments

Our sleep assessment instruments, such as the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, are cited and utilized by researchers and clinicians worldwide.
